Word has it that Ric's day was marred when someone pushed him out of a plane:o

Not much damage if he flapped his arms a bit & landed on something soft or sandy.:lol

My very first bike! Man did that little baby do some miles. The salesman took me to a back street in Hornsby Sydney and after 20mins of tutelage i signed the hire purchase papers and the bike was mine. I had freedom and independence!!!! I can still remember how exciting and exhilarating it was even though i nearly got taken out on the way home, on my maiden voyage. (My fault totally) Guess what ? I still enjoy it as much as back then. In actual fact nowadays i enjoy it even more than back then.

Well it was only a matter of time before this was invented and when considering the number of incidents involving MC's it is long over due. There are subtitles but check it out. Link

Long ago in a galaxy far, far away, (well it seems like that anyway. More like 2005 in Montville), The Wild Geese began flocking for sustenance at a well known eatery there. It may have been by chance during a ride one day or maybe it was because we were lured in by the terrific meals, such as the Penne All'Arrabiata rustled up (more like created) by the name sake of the place, Zana.

Then again it may have been due to the sincere friendship offered by the Magpie Goose (Mark) with whom we have all been blessed to know over the years & who made certain we didn't need to form a queue & served us with copious amounts of refreshments from a tray.

Mark & Zana have worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone visiting Zana's Restaurant at Montville has had the warmest welcome & best dining experience possible. The Wild Geese have held our Annual Lunch Flocking there for ages & we all have great memories of the shared camaraderie during these times.

Most will recall that in Nov 09 Mark took a fall in the forest, (Steve & Rob were there so it was actually heard) & repairs still have to be made (to the person). Sadly, this & other pressing issues, have resulted in the doors to Zana's Restaurant closing in the past week or so. Zana & Mark can now enjoy some R & R which they both richly deserve.

The Wild Geese sincerely thank Zana, Mark, Margaret & All the Staff for their wonderful hospitality over the millennium & offer our best wishes for the future.

Any Sunday 25 July will see a "Mystery Guest" meeting with us for brekkie. Our guest, who is a veteran of the Isle Of Man TT & "Round the world motorcycling journeys", will arrive on the Sunshine Coast to attended several official functions on Friday & Saturday & then join us for brekkie with his charming partner at Cafe Chez Andre. Come along to meet & greet, get an autograph, photo opportunity etc etc before he flies out to his next movie shoot.

Wild Geese members are asked to keep this info under their wings so as not to cause a media frenzy. You know we like to keep a low profile.:;)

That rider looks tiny! ~ Steve

Mystery Guest invisible? :rolleyes [Recky Goose]

Yes, it appears that he had more pressing engagements

Gold Coast Council has seen fit to subsidise the Honda Australia Rider Training scheme to the tune of a final cost to the rider of only $45.00! Col Sheehan recently attended the course & found it very thorough and worthwhile. There were about five riders to each instructor & each took a turn at riding in front of the instructor for critique. Lectures were held in the council chambers & at the stops along the route (approx. 200klms). Link This is not a new rider course. The combined riding experience of the class Colin attended was 523 years!

Any Sunday 25 July maybe a possiblity if anyone is interested. Contact Rob

    Greetings Geese,

it will not have escaped your eagle eye that this web site has taken on a new look. Waddayathink? Is it a keeper or did you prefer the old look? Let me know - I can easily put the old layout back if you liked it better.

    Cheers,
    ~ Steve/Gizmo

Well done Gizmo. You do us proud!

Riding those great twisties when you come up on a cager spoiling the fun. <:( Give a thought about that solid white line(s) before you cross it. The riders in Victoria didn't & well... the vid speaks for itself. They're out there and watching. :eek When one considers the number of fatalities in these parts, it's only time before this catches on in places other than the Great Ocean Road.

There have been a few rides not reported, so have a look through the site to see what's been going on. Ozzie is home & chaffing at the bit to get out & ride. Indeed, three Geese were at the K'Worth Servo on Thursday 13 May when he flew past, absorb in it all. Also rumour has it that Muz has a new project on the go & that JoE's past is involved. More news on that later. Helen Trenerry has found a nickname, Qp Goose (1 guess only, 1st word "An airline, 2nd word "Wot flies it?)

On the subject of names ect, if anyone wishes to have their member page updated & needs assistance, contact Rob to pass on details.

In Ride Reports there are random pics of some rides around the place of late. Patrick, our host at Chez Andre, finally got to ride with us last Any Sunday & with Tor along also, it was a Wild Geese moment @ Montville. The weather is perfect of late, cool, dry & easy to wear your gear. Get out & Enjoy.:] Any Week Day Rides have been well supported & we are heading out further a field as we go & on Any Sunday we are still at Chez. Be there. All Good.

On a cautionary , in the past two weeks, Wild Geese have come across at least 4 prangs(not counting one of our own)& two near misses for us. Speed & style appear to be the problem.

Take it easy, mind how you go & Ride 2Survive.
